For the last three years my main summer activities have been getting my ass kicked by the law and long distance moving. However, in my previous life, I preferred having my ass kicked by bodies of water or liberally coating myself in OFF and moving myself to a spot under the nearest tree where I would lay very still, and read everything I could get my hands on without a significant amount of effort, in between naps. If I won the Powerball tomorrow, that’s what my life would be for at least six months, water and literate sloth. Though I’d probably move off the ground and buy myself a hammock or an actual wood Adirondack chair. Continue reading

Tara Reid still has a job with the sharks if she wants it, Johnny Depp is tired of being that guy finally, Diane Lane takes a walk in a pantsuit, Rush Limbaugh to continue spewing bile from his gaping jaws (Ha! An article from the New York Daily News’ S.E. Cupp, titled “The rise of Republican millennials”, came across my desk recently. I’ve always operated under the assumption that my generation was overwhelmingly liberal, and that conservative millennials were few and far between. While this may be true today in terms of party orientation, Ms. Cupp approached the question from a different angle: is the millennial generation actually conservative, in terms of personality rather than politics?
As a millennial, I decided to weigh in on Ms. Cupp’s hypothesis, and see if she’s right.
Spoiler Alert! She’s not. Continue reading

Late summer means county fairs and midways, and that means food-on-a-stick. Popsicles, shishkabobs and corndogs are familiar examples of food-on-a-stick and probably are available at your local county fair. The others shown here, maybe not so much.
Click on for some truly great food-on-a-stick. Continue reading
