Most airlines will let you donate miles to charities. It’s not tax deductible, but if you have no use for the miles, they’re going to expire or you just feel like they could be put to better use by a charity than by you then you might want to donate. Each airline is a little different but the idea is similar across most of them. Here are the direct links to donate miles for a few of the larger airlines in the US.
- JetBlue – You choose from several charities and make the donation on the JetBlue site
- American – A smaller list of charities, the donations are done on the charity’s site
- Delta – One of the more broad list of charities covering a worldwide spectrum
- United – Reasonable list of charities with a fairly easy form
- Southwest – A limited set of charities
- Alaska – A limited set of charities
Most will let you donate any number of miles but you might find that some have a minimum.
