Sarah Palin Wants To Join “The View”

The_View_logoSarah Palin–former vice presidential candidate, pitbull mom, and “maverick” quitter governor–is considering a new role on Barbara Walters’ daytime talk show.

Over the course of 17 seasons, the panel has included controversial personalities across the political and showbiz spectrum, from left-wing loudmouths like Rosie O’Donnell and anti-vaccine celebrity fruitcake Jenny McCarthy to Tea Party bobblehead Elisabeth Hasselbeck. In the latter’s wake, Sarah fits like a baiting famewhore glove. The image (and the ratings potential) of her interviewing President Obama’s electoral successors is both intriguing and nauseating.

This year, after the departure of founder Barbara Walters, longtime cohost Sherri Shepherd, and the exit of brief addition Jenny McCarthy, Whoopi Goldberg will be the only regular returning in the fall. She will be joined by former cohost and Hasselbeck foe Rosie O’Donnell.

Other would-be panelists floating in the gossip mill include Bernadette Peters, Idina Menzel, Mario Cantone, and Jane Lynch (the one name that might compel me to watch).

What additions would be hideous or brilliant enough to make you watch a henpecking circus, if only to watch big egos and different shades of crazy clash?
