The last time I watched the MTV VMAs it was to live blog it for you people. I had a good time watching and making fun… I think. Though from what I remember there were lots of fast cuts and it was clearly geared at people younger than me. I didn’t feel the need to watch it last year, but the rumors of an *NSYNC reunion have piqued my interest. I guess I have to watch and see if it actually happens.

7:54: My high school friends and I have been talking about this all week. I’ll be SUPER DISAPPOINTED if *NSYNC doesn’t reunite tonight, but good on MTV’s PR people for getting that going. I wouldn’t be watching tonight’s show otherwise.
7:58: At some point in time Lady Gaga was supposed to be the big draw for tonight’s show.
8:00 – Here we go, folks!
8:01: I’m already confused. Are they for real booing Lady Gaga?

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift were sorta matching.
8:15: Oh they are rattling off a bunch of pre-show winners. They are going to fast and I’m not paying enough attention to catch them all. Oops.

8:17: First performance – Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus. This should be interesting.
How many drugs should I be on to understand this?

8:24- All that plastic surgery and Lil’ Kim has her hair covering her face.
8:26 – Best Hip Hop video: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. Who knew two white dudes could win this award? (Wait – who’s the black dude?)

Thirty minutes in and we’ve only got 2 awards and 2 performances down. What’s the over/under how over schedule this show goes?

9:29- Best Song of the Summer (again, WTH?) – One Direction -“We Dance All Night” (?) How is it that this song won and this is the only one I didn’t hear at all.

9:54- A TLC movie? I can get behind that.

10:04- Speaking of Selena Gomez, I watched Spring Breakers last night. James Franco was great, but the whole movie was just a slow motion flashback of slow motion flashbacks of things that happened 5 minutes before. And I swear there wasn’t any dialogue for the first 45 minutes of the movie.
10:09 – How can they declare “Roar” to be Katy Perry’s biggest hit ever? The song has only been out like 2 weeks right?
