It’s over, chickens. Hit the jump for some final thoughts and a last look at the Drag Race Index.
Jinkx Monsoon was crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar last night. Were any of you surprised? I know Ru says the decision is ultimately hers to make, but Jinkx seemed to be the clear fan favorite, and I refuse to believe that doesn’t have some sway on Ru’s decision. For a few brief moments — seeing Sharon and Alaska in the same room, on the same stage — I really wanted Alaska to take the crown (and would have been just as happy if she had), but when Ru announced Jinkx’s name, I didn’t feel surprise or shock. This was Jinkx’s season all along. Alaska has proved herself, and she and Sharon are still drag royalty, but Jinkx will do mama Ru proud as the reigning queen.
As you probably remember, starting last season the show tapes three possible outcomes to the finale, only revealing the true winner on the night of broadcast. Below is a video of the three queens sitting backstage as they find out with the rest of America who has been crowned the winner.

Finally, we take a parting glance at the Drag Race Index, which made for lots of pretty zigzagging colored lines, but more importantly it predicted our winner! Ms. Monsoon topped the Index eight weeks out of twelve. Click to enlarge!
Thanks for hanging with me all season, darlings. Give us your final thoughts in the comments. Until next time!
