Good morning Crasstalk. Let’s face it. It has been a really rough week news-wise. Violence in Syria, a worsening situation in Somalia, plus more bad news about the global economy. It’s enough to make you crazy. What the Hell, let’s just go for it. Here is your crazy news for the week. Go ahead, give in. What do you really have left to lose?
Pat Robertson says that Scripture allows you to abandon your spouse if they have Alzheimer’s Disease. According to Robertson the effects of the disease are like death, so divorce is permitted in this case for observant Christians. Not surprisingly, other Christian ministers have condemned the claim as an improper interpretation of Biblical principles. For those who live outside of the US and may be unfamiliar with Robertson, he is an asshole.
The crazy kids over at World Net Daily are still bothering busy public servants with their inane requests for information to prove that President Obama is not a US citizen. Birth certificate be damned, these folks will not give up until they have wasted the taxpayer’s money at every single agency of the federal government. Their new target is the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Amateur “researchers” fed Obama’s social security number into the E-Verify system used by employers to check immigration status. When the number came back flagged as unverifiable the birthers took this as truth that the President is an illegal Kenyan usurper. Apparently it did not occur to them that the USCIS probably thought it was a little suspicious that someone else was using Obama’s number. No word yet on whether INS officials have suggested to the “researchers” that they may have some kind of head injury.
