Flashback Friday: Disco Inferno

Disco is practically the most reviled form of music among music snobs across the land. Disco was made for both your tripped-out naked twirling on the dance floor or for dancing with your baby in the kitchen. Artists have been sampling disco for decades and understandably so. Of course, we have all heard “I Will Survive” ninety billion times more than we thought we would but it was an epic break-up song for the ages, so thank you, Gloria Gaynor.

There were some amazing instrumentals that were played in clubs. And people used to dance…together…front to front, not bumping and grinding on each others booties. Barry White was a visionary and before we did The Hustle, he gave us a theme.

This is the BEST song from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. Don’t touch the hair!

And don’t dare say nothing bad about Xanadu. This shit is real. ONJ is the hotness and this the height of disco indulgence.

Get on your jumpsuit and goldfish heeled boots and let’s boogie!
