Happy Holiday Weekend, ladies and gents! Seems like it’s been a pretty quiet week here at Crasstalk. I suppose that’s appropriate, given that it’s the lead up to a three-day weekend. I don’t know about you guys, but lazy is the way to go this weekend, assuming that you’re fortunate enough to not be in the path of these never ending storms pounding through the Midwest.And, if you’re stuck in the Midwest, take your iPad into the basement, and plan on playing some games with us here on Crasstalk. Momof3 gave us one idea, though, on behalf of the editors, I’m hoping it’s not one we’ll have to play very often.
In other words, we’re all here to enjoy each other, have some laughs, and the occasional intelligent conversation. Let’s remember that.
Now, if you don’t happen to have a basement, you should try to find a neighbor who does. Just make sure you really know them.

Remember, though, Memorial Day is a holiday intended to celebrate our servicemen and women, and the sacrifices they made to defend America, itself a grand institution. Right, MonkeyBiz?
Of course, the question of American exceptionalism is very much up for debate in these times. In a week where President Obama’s car got stuck on a gate leaving the US Embassy in Ireland, our own Swifter wondered aloud if that could be a metaphor for Obama’s first term. Captain Snarky gives an apt evaluation, I think:
In the end, we use Memorial Day to kick back, relax, cook out, and have some ice cream. Or maybe a milkshake. Why do I feel like we spent a lot of time talking about milkshakes yesterday? Oh, right:
