Welcome to the Crasstalk Book Club

It’s May! That means that we (and by we, I mean I) have decided to reboot the Crasstalk Book Club. But, books, man. Who has time for books? Plays, though. Plays we can work with in regards to time limits and if we, for some bizarre reason (eaten by lions, shot by gorillas, nasty paper cuts etc.), neglect to finish (or even start!) the play, well, we can always watch the movie two hours before discussion time to get necessary talking points.

Introducing the Crasstalk Play Club!

You have until May 15 to read Henrik Ibsen’s John Gabriel Borkman.

Ha! The above is a ruse! A ruse! There’s no movie version* and BAM ended their production in January. You have to read it now! It’s about a banker who embezzles. Everyone hates bankers, but, then again, everyone loves Alan Rickman.

John Gabriel Borkman is available on Kindle for $0.99, Nook for free and physical form for a variety of prices. Talking points will be released on May 14 in the open thread and an official discussion post will be released on May 15

*To be fair, the Germans produced a made-for-television version in 1967. It is, however, not on Netflix.
