QOTD: The Literary Greats of 2011

Our nation’s politics, reality stars, and Justin Biebers may make it seem like we can’t produce anything good anymore, but literature is an annual case for the fact that some excellence will always emerge no matter how hard we try to repress it with Kardashians.

And so, the Question of the Day: what do you think was the best book released in 2011?

Unfortunately, I’m usually a year behind with new books because I’m all about the trade paperback format, which is generally released around a year after the hardcover, so I’ll have to go with the only 2011 book I actually read: Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (and Other Concerns) by the inimitable Mindy Kaling. If you’re a fan and haven’t read it, do! Better yet, get to a signing if you can–she is absolutely delightful in person!

And, whether you can’t remember what was written this year or you’re just curious, here’s who the New York Times, Publishers Weekly, and Goodreads readers considered to be their best of the year.
