MTV’s I Just Want My Pants Back is Funny, Cute

Since we were just on the topic of eschewing the languid, insipid hipster R.I.P.sters, Just Eschew Them All To Hell I Say! (No, not really) what do we do when we find a new television show that exalts them to a heaven full of ironic sustainable farming magazines and cool media jobs — and we find it rather enjoyable?

Well, you sit back and just kind of hang out, no? Continue reading →

Super Bowl Recipes: Coffee-Smoked Southwestern Chicken

This New Year’s day, my husband made one of the most outstanding appetizers I have ever had. He made Tea-Smoked Chicken, and the guests at the party devoured them. Then recently I was gifted with some Gypsy Gold Dust, a Southwestern-style spice mix. When I opened it, that smoked chicken recipe popped into my head. Movie Review: The Innkeepers

The Passion of the Florist

Sit back, ladies, and await your roses on Valentine’s Day. That smiling delivery man will come to your home or office, hand over that fabulous bouquet, and fill your heart with delight as he does so.

Think not of the insanity that goes into that dozen.

Ultima Florals, in Jackson Heights, Queens, usually has 3 to 5 people working an average day. Continue reading →

Storm Over MINI Publicity Stunt

Things car companies do not want their products associated with: death and backfiring.

Unfortunately for BMW-owned MINI, what was meant to be a cheap publicity stunt has associated both with the marque’s iconic MINI Cooper across a large swathe of Europe. Continue reading →
