Recipe Sunday: BLT Dip

Well, now that I’ve got your attention.

Sometimes you have a ton of time to execute a contribution to a friend’s party and other times it’s just an after thought and you’re bringing something mostly because you know you’ll be hungry and you aren’t sure if there will be food. And that’s when this dip comes in. It’s super fast, super easy and requires a minimum amount of ingredients. Don’t hate me, but this is a Paula Deen recipe that I first used a few years ago.

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 lb of bacon
  • 1 large tomato, chopped (or you can use two smaller ones)
  • 1 bag of shredded lettuce
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 8 oz mayo
  • 8″x8″ rectangular pan

Here’s what you do:

Fry up the bacon. Or bake it. Or nuke it. You can really make it the way you want. I prefer to fry it. Once it’s cool enough to handle chop it up into little pieces. Let that chill for a minute. Mix the mayo and sour cream and then spread it on the bottom of the pan. Place the lettuce on top of the mayo/sour cream mix, the tomatoes on top of that and then the bacon on top of that. Boom. BLT Dip. I prefer to serve these with bagel chips since they are sturdy enough to grab all the layers of goodness.

Enjoy!
