Like others, I have spent a decent amount of time browsing through OKCupid and the like, looking for the elusive date. And like others, I can be incredibly judgmental.
So, when reading a profile, there’s some things that make me just completely glaze over. Things like wine, jogging, and “the outdoors” tend to make me yawn.
So, being the opinionated person I am, I start to roll my eyes when certain books get mentioned as favorites. Of course, there are the standards. “Atlas Shrugged” and “Catcher in the Rye” top the list. The Great Gatsby is up there, but it depends on what else the person mentions. Same thing goes with Jane Austen, namely due to the popularity of the Pride and Prejudice movies. As much as I loved it, “House of Leaves” could probably be added to this list.
What books, upon finding out they are someone’s favorite, make inwardly start rolling your eyes/judging them?
