Welcome all you Wii Olympians.
Yesterday, Michael Phelps won gold in his last Olympic solo event, and fifteen year-old Katie Ledecky swam a furious pace, pausing only for an NBC commercial break, to win gold in the women’s 800m freestyle. And of course Bob Costas said some stupid stuff.
Some of today’s key medal events:
- Women’s Tennis: Serena Williams faces anguished warbler Maria Sharapova for the gold, and current world number one Victoria Azarenka plays for bronze.
- Rowing: Women’s Single Sculls, Men’s and Women’s Lightweight Double Sculls, and Men’s Four.
- Swimming: Men’s 1500m Freestyle.
- Badminton: Women’s Singles and Doubles finals.
- Triathlon: Women’s Triathlon finals.
