The death of actor Neil Hope, who played “Wheels” on popular Canadian teen soap opera Degrassi, was revealed to the public yesterday nearly five years after his actual death at age 35.
Hope, whose last guest appearance on the show was in 2003, died on November 25, 2007 of “natural causes.” His body was found by police in Hamilton, Ontario in a rooming house, according to an online story by the Toronto Star. According to the same story, his friends and family were only notified of his death this January, while Degrassi cast and crew were notified only days ago. Hope had reportedly lost touch with much of his family and former coworkers in the few years leading up to his death.
