When Two Self-Important Queens Feud, We all Win

Queen Bitch Elton John is furious that his song, “Something-Something, Blurb-Blurb” did not win the “Best Original Song” award at Sunday night’s Golden Globes. Instead, the honor went to a narcissistic heap of undulating gristle otherwise known as Madonna.

Earlier on red carpet, an interviewer asked Elton John about Madonna’s odds of walking away with an award. “Madonna doesn’t have a fucking chance of winning tonight,” Elton snapped. The interviewer then asked if “those were fighting words?”  Without missing a beat, Elton quipped, “No, those are accurate words.” Yikes.

Much to Elton’s dismay, Madonna did win “Best Original Song” and his fury was evident to all those watching.

Never one to let her lack of talent compromise her hubris, Madonna accepted the award with a three minute-long speech about how tossed-off her song had been (we could not tell) and how serious she is about directing movies about Nazi sympathizers. At least, we think that is what she was saying because we could not get past her Detroit-British accent and single fingerless glove.

In any event, the rocket man and his husband have been running their mouths off to anyone who would listen (read: everyone). Deeply angered, David Furnish took to Facebook to tear Madonna apart. “Madonna. Best song???? Fuck off!!!” Furnish fumed. “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit,” he continued via Facebook. “Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it’s narcissism.”

He certainly has a point but really, when two egomaniacs two decades past their sell-by dates phone it in with two turgid songs, how do we choose whose song was more eligible for a Golden Globe?

Madonna and Elton have a long, storied history of feuding. At the 2004 Q Awards in London, Elton blew a gasket because Madonna was nominated for “Best Live Act.” At the podium, Elton let it rip. “Madonna, best fucking live act? Fuck off! Since when has lip-synching been live? That’s me off her fucking Christmas card list but do I give a toss? No.” Alright, then!
