Death Penalty for Miami Football?

Miami football. It’s an institution. Is it coming to an end?

The Orange and Green have won 5 national championships. 9 Conference championships. From 2000 to 2003 they had 34 consecutive wins. 188 games without being shut out from 1979-1994. Miami star players go to the NFL. That’s just the way it is.

Or is it? Yahoo! Sports recently uncovered a huge scandal of paying players with sex, money and vehicles. Nevin Shapiro, a huge Miami booster who was arrested for his role in a 930 million dollar Ponzi scheme. He claims to have spent millions of dollars on amateur football and basketball players during an eight year run. He gave the guys cash, prostitutes, parties on his yacht and homes, clubs, jewelry, bounties for injuring opposing players, and travel. He even claims to have paid one of the prostitutes to get an abortion after getting pregnant with a player’s child.

Shapiro also claims at least 7 coaches knew what was going on at the time. If it’s all true, this could be much worse than the charges against SMU that lead to the destruction of a once reigning program during the 80s.

Where do you stand on capital punishment?
