Paula Deen’s Supporters Take to Food Network’s Facebook Page; Hilarity Ensues

For those of you living under a rock for the last 72 hours or so, you may be unaware that the Food Network has fired Paula Deen for admitting during a deposition to making racist and anti-Semetic jokes, using the N-word, and planning an Antebellum Southern Plantation-style wedding.

The Misunderestimation of George W Bush

George_WFor the first time since 2005, more Americans view President George W. Bush positively than negatively. A new Gallup poll released Tuesday found that 49 percent of people view the former president favorably and 46 percent unfavorably.

George W. Bush is taking a shower. Suddenly he pauses in his ablutions; even the water pressure seems to slacken, steam ceases to rise. He gazes downward: His male organ has vanished. Well, yes, apparently this truly needs to be said. When did it become a thing where we take sugary, glazed pastry add meat and cheese to it, or stuffed inside it, or hell, just fire-bombed into your arteries from a doughnut cannon? Booze Review: Tito’s Vodka

TitosVodkaI admit it, I’m a vodka snob. Not because I have such discerning tastes, but because I hate a hangover, and I like to drink a lot of vodka. Nothing better to me than a (or some) nice, crisp, straight up, vodka martini just a little dry. Must have three olives, an even amount is bad luck, you know. (Learned that one from an old time bartender friend, who served them when it was still okay to have martini working lunches.)

To me, the vodka cannot taste too starchy or sting like rubbing alcohol when it touches my lips. Obviously, as a martini drinker, I like a vodka that I can drink straight. I find the starchier and less smooth the vodka, the greater the hangover. Continue reading
