UPDATE! George Zimmerman’s Wife Would Also Like to Benefit from his Death

Shellie Zimmerman, estranged wife of George Zimmerman, the acquitted killer of teenager, Trayvon Martin, has filed for divorce. The reason? Disappointment. Yeah, well, no kidding.

In an interview with Good Morning America she says, “I have a selfish husband and I think George is all about George.” She also believes she “never really knew him [George] at all” and claims that he was verbally abusive and that marriage counseling wasn’t working. On the night of Martin’s killing, Shellie Zimmerman says she was not living in the marital home because of an argument between the two. Yet she admits to standing by George Zimmerman and lying during his bond hearing which led her to face her own perjury charges last week where she was sentenced to a year of probation and a hundred hours of community service, a court appearance that George Zimmerman did not attend. Something that did not go unnoticed by his wife.

Since being acquitted of murder last month, Shellie Zimmerman contends that the acquittal has made George feel “invincible” which led him to make some “reckless decisions.” One of which ostensibly was shopping for a tactical shotgun from and posing with a representative of the manufacturer that produced the weapon used to kill Martin. The event caught national news attention, which led Zimmerman attorney spokesman to issue a statement indicating that they did not condone the act.

For her part as NY Daily News reports, Shellie Zimmerman is much playing the “woman wronged” card. It would appear that she believes essentially for all that she put into the marriage for nearly seven years — she’s really reaping no rewards. And to that most of us would say, “Well, what do you expect when your husband guns down an unarmed kid and walks around like a celebrity?” Seemingly, she wants to remove the stain or inconvenience (?) this has caused and get back to doing things for herself. And we assume that also means getting all she can from whatever dregs of cash could be unearthed now or in the future with regard to the Trayvon Martin case.

“I stood by my husband through everything,” she told ABC, “and I kind of feel like he left me with a bunch of pieces of broken glass that I’m supposed to now assemble and make a life.”

In addition to custody of the couple’s two dogs, she’s asking for equal distribution of “checking accounts, trusts, partnerships and any unknown assets,” including any money that may come from a defamation lawsuit pending against NBC or reimbursement claims against the state of Florida.

Under Florida law the state is required to repay all legal costs except for lawyer’s fees in the event of an acquittal. George Zimmerman will ask the state to reimburse him for $200,000 to $300,000 of his legal expenses — money that he received from a donation drive set up after his arrest for the murder of Martin — of which Shellie Zimmerman also benefited. Earlier reports indicate that the Zimmermans used portions of the money to pay off debt, as if it were a windfall given unto them from a lottery or a sweepstakes.

Shellie Zimmerman says that the timing is right to begin a new life, and as such, also wants George Zimmerman to pay for a permanent life insurance policy with her named as the beneficiary. She said in the petition that her husband should pay the premiums on the policy since “he has the financial ability to obtain such life insurance at reasonable rates.” What a way for a wife to say to her husband, “Hey, I think your number may be up soon, bub.”

We have not heard as yet that George Zimmerman has a job working anywhere, doing anything save for touring the country with gun in tow while racking up speeding tickets.

We can’t imagine two more horrible people.

UPDATE:

We stand corrected. It looks as if terrorizing people is George Zimmerman’s full-time job. Today he found himself detained by police after reportedly threatening Shellie Zimmerman and at least one other family member. The gun Zimmerman seemingly carries at all times was somehow in play. Shellie Zimmerman called 911 to say that George had a gun and was making threats.

Here’s her account via WKMG Local 6 news:

“He’s in his car and he continually has his hand on his gun and he keeps saying ‘step closer’ and he’s just threatening all of us,” Shellie Zimmerman said in the 911 call, adding that George Zimmerman was “trying to shut the garage door” on her.

“He punched my dad in the nose my dad has a mark on the nose. I saw his glasses were on the floor,” Shellie Zimmerman said in the call. He then accosted my father then took my iPad out of my hands. He then smashed it and cut it with a pocketknife, and there is a Lake Mary city worker across the street that I believe saw all of it.”

The victims are not speaking to police and were waiting for their attorney to arrive, Bracknell said.

As of 3:45 p.m., no arrests have been made and George Zimmerman is “no longer in investigative detention,” according to police, but is still at the home. Police are investigating the incident as a domestic battery.

“I don’t know what he’s capable of,” Shellie Zimmerman said in the call. “I’m really scared.”

In the 911 call, Shellie Zimmerman tells her dad to “get behind the car or something-I don’t know if he’s going to start shooting at us or something.” She also said her father said he “feels like he’s going to have a heart attack.”

Yep, this sounds like someone just acquitted of murder.
