Mad Men Post Mortem: Man with a Plan

MM_607_MY_0122_0800So, we got some of our questions from last week answered, but were left with a few others. Like, where the hell is Dawn? What is this new agency calling itself? We still had a lot going on this week, but it wasn’t as BAG! BOOM! POW! as last week’s episode. At least it wasn’t like that for me.

WARNING: All spoilers, all the time.

Some items of note:

  • As soon as Burt Peterson walked into Roger’s office, I knew he was getting canned.
  • As annoying as Bob Benson (ugh) is, I loved that he helped out our Joanie.
  • And then she kept him from getting canned.
  • What the hell was up with Don? Like BG said last night in the OT, “Creepy Don is creepy.”
  • I’m glad that Sylvia dumped him. It will be interesting to see how he handles this. Is this the first time he’s been dumped by one of his mistresses?
  • I loved that we got to see Peggy and Joan interact. Looks like their relationship will pick up where it left off.
  • I was really hoping Don would poop his pants during that plane ride with Ted.

One thing that’s not necessarily related to this episode, but someone pointed out recently. Vincent Kartheiser (who plays Pete) is shaving his head so as to give Pete a receding hairline. My roommate has started watching the series from the beginning and I can’t help but notice the difference in Pete’s hairline from season one to last night’s episode.

APieceoftheContinent sent me the ABC newscast from when RFK was shot.

I always like the Grantland Mad Men Power Rankings.
