Ann Romney and Michelle Obama’s Convention Hair Styles – Let’s Hair it for America!

These last two weeks have been filled with the conventions for America’s two most prominent political parties. Full of…we’ll call it pomp and circumstance, this is the time when each party puts on a show. It’s also the time diehard true believers of each party get to show their stars and stripes. But let us focus on what is important – how to look like a politician’s wife!

Now, we know both of these women are accomplished in their own right for varying but also similar reasons. Can we say the same for their hair and make-up? Let’s take a look. First up, Ann Romney! Red is a color that looks good on most women, and Republicans seem to favor it. It was a natural fit for Mrs. Romney when she came out to talk to the Women of America. Thankfully, she kept the hair simple and loose without the Stepford Wife shellacking one has come to expect. She also stayed away from the up-do, which can appear too formal and stand-offish.

As for the make-up, she didn’t go with dramatic eyes or a bright red lip, though the color is a little to matchy-matchy. However, she’s not supposed to look like an avant garde model or a young woman going out to the club. We also know that the only club where we would find Mrs. Romney is a country club, not a dance club. Basically, Ann looks like how you would expect her to look.

Batting clean-up, Michelle Obama! Pretty in pink, Mrs. Obama also kept her hair loose and free from helmet head.

Mrs. Obama downplays her make-up with natural, but glossy lips, and more of an emphasis on defining her eyes. She is also rocking a tamer version of au courant red carpet front-racerback style, which emphasizes her well-defined shoulders and arms. Well played.

If these two women can get it right on one of the biggest nights of their lives, you can too! Just hire a stylist, hair dresser and make-up artist and you will be on your way to politician’s wife status!
