Disgraced Rhode Island State Legislator Harnesses Power of the Internet to Act Like 14 Year Old Boy

Yesterday this writer was on Twitter when I saw a tweet from Rhode Island state legislator Dan Gordon (R-71) about the US House vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Admittedly, I was cranky, and after a day of reading bad economic news I felt a little fed up with the GOP’s continued bitching about the health care bill when Americans need some real leadership. I shot back a cranky response.

Again, not my finest moment on the internet. I expected my tweet would be ignored or maybe I would get a the usual bland response you get from political officials on Twitter. However, Dan Gordon decided for a more direct approach.

I was a little taken aback and exchanged a couple of more contentious tweets with Gordon. He blocked me a couple of tweets later. No big loss to either of us. However, when other people on my Twitter feed began to also respond to Gordon and his less than friendly comments Representative Gordon decided to open a full can of tea party wup ass.

Poopy face? But wait, it gets better.

This is pretty odd behavior from an elected official, but Dan Gordon is no ordinary state representative. He has an extensive criminal record and has been charged with both cyberstalking and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was thrown out of Rhode Island’s Republican Caucus for harassing other members of his own party online. Gordon even claimed that he received a Purple Heart in Iraq, even though military records indicated he never served there.

Nobody deserves a representative like Gordon. He won his last election by a mere 47 votes. Hopefully the people of his district will get a serious state legislator in the election later this year. Here’s a local news report about Gordon’s epic arrest for being a “fugitive from the law.”
