Crasstalk Writer’s Workshop

Welcome to the Writer’s Workshop. We haven’t had one of these in a long time, so this may be new for some of you. Essentially, this is a chance for you to work with the editors and admins to come up with story ideas, improve your posts, and generally be a literary genius. Please feel free to use this forum as a way to develop new ideas or ask for help and feedback. We want all of you to become the best writers you can be, and we are here to help you do that. Let’s get started.

First, some notes from the home office:

  • Please, please spell check your posts. It is ridiculous that we are correcting spelling errors when there is a spell check feature on the WP panel.
  • Please follow the image guidelines. Top images should be about 500 x 225 and centered. If you want to use a smaller image it should be about 250 x 225 and you must align it left so the text will wrap around it. If your image is over 400 px, please do not wrap text around it. Do not put captions on you top images.
  • Bring the “more” tag up as part of the paragraph, not on a line by itself.
  • The period goes after the parentheses like this ).
  • The period goes inside quotation marks like this .”
  • One space after the end of a sentence. This applies to everyone.
  • Try not to cut and paste from Word. Use Text Edit or Notepad instead. It makes formatting much easier.

One more thing. The Grand Inquisitor is going to have a schedule change in a couple of weeks and it will be difficult for her to edit during the work day. It would really help us if people could try and get their posts in the pending queue the night before they want it to run so we can set the daily schedule. I know this isn’t always possible, but if you can do it our workload will be a lot easier.

Now, please feel free to ask any questions you have below or to let us know what you are working on.
