Prominent Skeptic Changes Mind On Global Warming

Richard Muller, a noted physics professor at UC Berkeley and prominent global warming skeptic, found that temperatures are indeed rising around the world.

His reversal comes after a two-year study trying to prove that scientists were wrong about global warming. Muller’s research found that the Earth is 1.6 degrees Fahrenheit, or one degree Celsius, warmer than it was in the 1950s.

This study was funded by the conservative Charles Koch Foundation, whose founder contributes to climate change skeptic groups and the Tea Party. In response to the report, the foundation noted that the study did not examine changes in ocean temperature or the cause of warming, but will continue to fund such research.
