QOTD: How Do You Make an Emergency Go-Bag?

With the first major Atlantic coast hurricane of the season, Irene, barreling down on the East Coast, some of us are more familiar with how to make up emergency kits than others. For those of you with experience in this type of thing, what do you recommend putting together in order to ensure getting through the ordeal and keeping your sanity intact?
